Exodus - A Story of Deliverance

January 8 - "From the Beginning"

As Moses was growing up along the Nile he looked upon the pyramids just like we do today. Made by generations of artisans that traced their lineage back to the architects of the Tower of Babel, the pyramids were a symbol of power and a reminder to the Hebrews of their bondage in a foreign land.

Although a powerful man in his own right, Moses questioned God's plan to use him to deliver His people. Moses asked of God…

Who am I to fulfill such a task? (Exodus 3:11-12)

Who are you when my people ask whom I serve? (Exodus 3:13-15)

What if they don't believe what You have to say? (Exodus 4:1-9)

     I can't speak - can't you send somebody else? (Exodus 4:10-12)

The lies of the enemy filled his mind the way they fill our minds today, but Moses needed to learn that his position and his power came from God alone.
